Two soldiers were killed and three others were injured by terrorists from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), who fired on a military unit patrolling near the Beytüşşebap district of the southeastern province of Şırnak on Friday.
Initial reports said three terrorists were also killed in the ensuing clash.
The PKK, recognized as a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union, has recently stepped up its terrorist attacks. The PKK has killed more than 50 people, including civilians, in its attacks in the past few months.
