Suspected members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have killed four women and critically injured two others in an attack on a car in southeastern province of Siirt.
The PKK members attacked with rocket launchers and four women were killed when a missile struck the car in which they were travelling to a wedding, Cihan news agency reported.
Turkish broadcaster CNN Turk said only two of the four victims were women.
One PKK member was killed in a subsequent clash near the police school.
More than 40,000 people have been killed in the conflict between the state and PKK, which took up arms in 1984. The PKK is listed as a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
