The outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has released four kidnapped teachers in eastern province of Elazığ, local officials said.
Elazığ Governor Muammer Erol told state-run Anatolia news agency on Wednesday that the PKK released four teachers they kidnapped from Yoğunbilek village of Arıcak district.
PKK members kidnapped four teachers in Arıcak district of Elazığ on Tuesday. Elazığ governor’s office said in a written statement that four armed PKK members kidnapped eight teachers and a van driver at 6 p.m. but later released female teachers, Özge Akman, Ayşe Harktı, Hadice Oğuz, Sevilay Yılmaz and driver Ali Eren. But the PKK members took hostage four remaining teachers.
Kidnapped teachers were Gökhan Yıldız, Abdullah Karan, İrfan Sarıkaya and İsmail Yücel.
