Two killed as PKK attacks off-duty police officers

A police officer and his wife were killed and eight were injured in the southeastern province of Tunceli Sunday night when alleged members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, opened fire on grounds where they were playing football on the outskirts of the Munzur, Agence France-Presse reported.

The police officer’s wife was among the spectators watching the game, Anatolia News agency reported. Initial reports did not mention if she was a police officer or not.
